Olympic Aquatic Centre

Following the success of the London Olympics the challenge to convert the facilities into the Queen Elizabeth Park commenced and one of the mammoth tasks required was to reduce the seating capacity of the Aquatic centre and convert this into an indoor swimming pool complex.

The most challenging task was to seal the inside environment from the external weather conditions during this removal of the vast seating capacity which elevated from the internal area to the external and towered above the roof of the main complex.

Shrink Wrap encapsulation was the logical solution in providing a weatherproof environment during the conversion.

Verisafe materials were used to encapsulate the entire outside perimeter protecting the internal equipment and maintaining temperatures preventing winter damage.

6000m2 were installed within 4 weeks and was installed by SCA ProTect containment.
